Aikido

Aikido is a Japanese martial art, which was developed by Morihei Ueshiba and is greatly influenced by the power of the spirit. In Aikido, Ai stands for joining; Ki stands for spirit and do stands for way. The main goal of Ueshiba was to create a self defense system that can be used with lethal force without causing fatal injuries to the attacker. The core of Aikido lies in the fact that it used to redirect the attackers energy, body weight etc against the attacker. This martial art form consists of mainly various styles of body throws and techniques of joint-locking. Aikido training emphasizes mostly on physical fitness and mastering of the technique and this is followed by development and chanelling of the Ki (spirit) through controlled relaxation and meditation.

What is Kyu-Shin-Do ?

The theory of KYU – SHIN – DO What is KyuShinDo ? And more precisely what it isn’t !! Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 1915 – 1985 by Henry Ellis Kyu = Desire – Yearn – Sphere – Circle – Search – Study. Shin = Heart – New – Spirit – True – To be true to ones self. Do = Way or Path , a way of life or self discipline . I honestly believe that Kyu-Shin-Do has lost its true path in Britain and has become many things to many people.
