Vovinam Viet Vo Dao is a Vietnamese Martial art. Master Nguyen Loc founded this art of attack and self defense in 1938. This Martial art was invented to fight the French and free Vietnam. The training for Vovinam Viet Vo Dao includes achieving a strong body and a logical mind. It was initially known as Vovinam meaning Martial Arts of Vietnam and after 1964, it was changed to Vovinam Viet Vo Dao meaning the Philosophy of Vietnamese Martial Arts.
